Can you single out the happiest moment in your life?
Chances are… you shared that moment with someone else.
If you want more of that happiness in your life, the secret lies in Service to Others.
So What is Service to Others?
A foundational pillar in the Law of One, and at the heart of spirituality, is service – which is dictated by our thoughts, feelings and actions.
Whether it's being helpful, providing assistance, or providing food at a table...
It's a form of devotion.
Military service, serving your country for example, is an honour, a duty.
A purpose.
To serve the planet, to serve humanity. To serve all.
All for one and one for all.

The Law of One material explains that the Universe, by definition, is one.
In fact, the whole of creation is the infinite being that is you and me.
Now, to advance spiritually… to learn and to grow in life… one must choose a path.
So, this is where the idea of polarity steps in.
What is Spiritual Polarity?
Spiritual polarity is an intrinsic Law of One term.
It’s all about energy, i.e. the energetic side of spiritual service…
Polarity comes from the poles. Magnetic polar opposites, north and south.
A compass needle points north. So, as you walk your spiritual path, taking step by step and progressing in various directions… sometimes forwards, sometimes backwards… your spiritual compass needle reverberates as it does its best to maintain and stay true to that North Star.
It's the light that’s always there, giving you orientation and guiding you home.
Service to Self vs Service to Others
There really are only two alternatives:
Positive and negative.
The light and the dark.
In essence, you must choose either.
These are the two options, or avenues to go down – Service to others or service to self.
With that said, however, the final destination is always and ever the same, for is not all one?
Service to Others
So what is being in service to others?
What does service to others mean?
In the Law of One, a positively polarised being takes the service to others path, meaning their thoughts, feelings and actions are serving others.
The beauty of Service to Others is that by serving others, you are in turn serving yourself.
As a result, it gives you purpose.
Are your thoughts towards others loving thoughts?
Do you feel like helping and being of aid?
Are you actively doing things to help people?
If the answers are yes, then these are indicators that you're on the Service to Others path.
The spiritual straight and narrow.
Not only should these 3 aspects be ticked off, you should be regularly checking yourself.
It’s all about self reflection and balance. That is the key, and it's a constant thing.
Alignment is essential – doing something that seems like it's helping someone and at the same time being resentful about it is a sign of confusion.
In the same respect, pretending to do the right thing while cursing under your breath suggests frustration.
Certainly, these are negative traits...
As an example, you don’t take the rubbish out just because you want to avoid a fight and you’re worried your partner will nag you for not doing it.
That is not service to others, even if you do take it out.
You take the bins out because you are happy to serve.
First, you are aware it's a task that needs doing.
In fact, you have a loving thought and feel like being helpful and you actually do it.
In the process, therefore, you have served another and also yourself.
How Can I Be of Service?
Ra was asked in the Law of One sessions if there is a best way to be of service to others.
Ra states:
What this means is that by doing your inner work, truly understanding who you are and expressing that deepest, most authentic self to others is the key to success.
Sharing with another being the love, light and joy of life.
So, sharing is caring.
When you share a moment, it is a gift for both!
Service to Self
What does service to self mean?
Undoubtedly, the Service to Self path is laden with confusion.
However, it is a valid one spiritually… for a portion of time at least.
"Service to Self" is explained in the Law of One as the negative polarity, the path of separation.
Anything outside of what you identify as “yourself” is seen as separate – hence the confusion.
Separation.
Confusion.
Division.
Disconnection.
Detachment.
Dissociation.
Imagine a cold, dead Universe. An empty sensation. There is no connection. You do not see others as yourself. You are separate from everything. Advancement lies in manipulation and control of everything and everyone around you...
A clear pecking order is in place.
In addition, there is an urge to rise to the top. An overwhelming despair as you judge yourself better or worse.
Enthralled in the illusion of separation from others.
Total domination of those below you and fear of those pulling the strings above you.
The negatively polarised entity is controlled, calculated and methodical.
Thoughts are purely self-centered.
Feelings are repressed and the desire to control others emerges.
Actions result in power over others.
Unfortunately, control and repression lead to power over others.
That is it.
This is seen as the meaning of life for a negatively polarised entity.
What's more, the self-serving path is clever and conniving. Elites are formed and the enslavement of others takes place.
Why Service to self?
Here is what Ra said regarding why beings would want to choose a service to self path:
Eventually, though, there comes a point for the negatively oriented being where it can no longer progress.
It must surrender to the infinity of all. It must accept oneness.
Kindness is Contagious: Be of Service to Others
When you perform an act of kindness, a selfless act of service, you feel good.
In addition, the person receiving the service feels good.
Not only that, if anyone else were to witness that act... Guess what?
They too are gifted with a good feeling.
The Science of Service
There are countless scientific studies into hormones that contribute to one's well-being and happiness.
Oxytocin is known as the love hormone.
It has bonding powers. In fact, it's released into the bloodstream at child birth and is also active in romantic relationships.
Examples of Serving Others
A young man who had lost his mother at an early age was having breakfast at a hotel restaurant. He sat down at a table and noticed three women walk into the room together.
As he glanced over, a sensation came over him.
Something about these women awakened a remembrance of his mother. Perhaps they had similar features, or maybe it was the gentle scent of a familiar perfume as they brushed past.
He couldn't quite pinpoint what it was about them...
It had been 10 years or so since he'd lost his Mum...
All of a sudden, emotions began to snowball.
How he missed his Mum, if only he had the opportunity to see her again, to sit down and enjoy breakfast together.
Even if it was just to buy her a coffee...
A Chance to Serve
An idea came to him and an opportunity presented itself.
His Mum had passed on a while ago, she was no longer here but these 3 ladies were, and they were right there, in front of him.
"What if I were to offer to buy them a coffee?" He thought...
He juggled this idea in his mind for a few moments and eventually plucked up his courage.
He got up and walked over to them.
"Sorry to bother you..." he said, "It's just, when you walked in, you reminded me of my Mum.
It's been about a decade since she passed away and when you three entered the room, I was reminded of her...
I miss her so much and I just had this sensation of wanting to have a coffee with her.
'Id love to be able to pay for your coffee, if you'd let me?"
At that point, one of the women stood up. The man watched as she circled the table and paused in front of him.
"My son died last week...
He was exactly your age." She said, tearing up.
They embraced each other and cried as they hugged in the middle of the restaurant.
That little sensation you're feeling right now is the feeling of love.
The story above is not a personal story of mine, nor is it a story of a close friend.
Nevertheless, that one act of love, of service to others, is powerful enough to spread out indefinitely through time and space.
Why Do We Feel This Way?
Simple.
Our purpose is to serve each other.
The altruistic moment of serving another doesn't end with you!
The receiver benefits too.
What's more, anyone who witnesses is also blessed with happiness.
You're the proof of that.
Are You being of Service?
So I challenge you to ask yourself.
Are you being of Service?
In the complete sense that we just covered.
Check your thoughts, feelings and actions.
If you want more happiness in your life, start your work.
Each person has their unique gift and way of being of service.
There is no generalisation, no specific way. You should look inside for answers.
Get to know yourself properly and realise who you are and what it is you want.
Choose to share that gift with the world.
Create and share another beautiful moment.
Be of service.
