Ever felt an unexplained heaviness in a room?

Or sensed an unsettling presence that you couldn't quite put your finger on?

This isn't just your imagination...

Spaces that aren't cleansed energetically can attract negative entities, spirits, and thought forms. Creating an environment that's anything but harmonious.

In the Law of One material, ritual cleansing and protective ceremonies were so crucial that they were performed before every session.

This underscores the importance of maintaining both physical and energetic cleanliness to safeguard your space and well-being.

In this post, we'll explore the profound teachings of the Law of One on ritual cleansing and share insights from my Umbanda practices, which deeply involve magic, ceremony, and energy clearing.

By the end, you'll have practical steps and deeper insights to transform your living space into a sanctuary of light and positive energy.

Understanding Ritual Cleansing

Ritual cleansing, also called space clearing, cleansing rituals, or cleansing ceremonies, is a practice aimed at purifying the energy of a space.

This ancient practice is found across various cultures and spiritual traditions, each with its unique methods and rituals.

At its core, ritual cleansing is about removing negative or stagnant energy and replacing it with positive, vibrant energy.

This process not only enhances the physical environment but also supports mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Whether it's through the use of herbs, incense, salt, or sacred symbols, the goal is to create a harmonious and energetically balanced space.

Different cultures have their own approaches to ritual cleansing.

For instance, in Native American traditions, smudging with sage is a common practice.

In Eastern traditions, burning incense and using sound through bells or chimes are prevalent.

In Umbanda, ceremonies often involve invoking spirits and using specific rituals to clear and protect the space.

Despite the variations, the underlying intent remains the same: to cleanse the space of unwanted energies and create a harmonious space of light and positivity.

Understanding and incorporating ritual cleansing into your spiritual practice can profoundly impact your environment and overall well-being.

Rituals, Clearing Spaces and Cleansing Techniques Mentioned in the  Law of One

The Law of One is widely regarded as some of the most profound channeled material available.

Within this body of work, ritual cleansing and space clearing are not just mentioned in passing—they are integral components that ensured the clarity and safety of the contact with Ra.

Throughout the sessions, ritual cleansing was a necessary practice that maintained the purity of the space and protected the participants.

At the end of each session, Don Elkins, the questioner, would ask Ra about the well-being of Carla Rueckert, the instrument, and inquire about ways to improve the contact and protect her.

This ongoing dialogue shows the importance of these rituals in sustaining a high level of spiritual communication.

Below, we delve into the specific rituals and ceremonies used in the Law of One sessions, as well as some cleansing techniques recommended by Ra.

These practices not only highlight the significance of maintaining a clean and protected space but also offer practical steps that can be incorporated into your own spiritual practices.

The Banishing Ritual of the Lesser Pentagram

One of the key rituals mentioned in the Law of One is the Banishing Ritual of the Lesser Pentagram.

This ritual is a cornerstone in many esoteric traditions, known for its powerful ability to purify and protect spaces from negative influences.

Purpose and Effectiveness:

The Banishing Ritual of the Lesser Pentagram serves multiple purposes.

Primarily, it is designed to cleanse the space of any lingering negative energies or entities, creating a purified environment.

Additionally, it establishes a protective barrier that prevents unwanted influences from entering the space. This makes it an invaluable tool for anyone engaging in serious spiritual work.

Usage in the Law of One:

In the Law of One sessions, this ritual was performed before every session to ensure the space was energetically clean and protected.

By doing so, the participants could maintain a high level of spiritual clarity and safety, facilitating their communication with Ra.

Steps Involved:

The ritual involves visualising and inscribing pentacles in the air while reciting specific incantations.

Additionally, it includes invoking and visualizing Archangels in the four directions: East, South, West, and North.

These actions generate a powerful field of protective energy that cleanses and safeguards the space.

The Banishing Ritual of the Lesser Pentagram is a fairly complex ritual that involves specific movements, visualisations, and invocations.

It shouldn't be done on a whim!

Like all spiritual rituals and ceremonies, it is serious work and should only be undertaken by those who are genuinely prepared and knowledgeable.

Ra even mentioned that this ritual is quite advanced, stating:

Additionally, the level of attention required for such rituals is highlighted in another session:

These quotes highlight the importance of meticulous attention and the serious nature of spiritual protection rituals.

Don't mess around, especially if you don't know what you're doing!

The Circle of One Ritual

The Circle of One ritual is another significant practice described by Ra in the Law of One material.

Ra suggested performing this ritual before each session, along with the Banishing Ritual of the Lesser Pentagram, to create a sacred and protected space for the spiritual work of channeling Ra.

Purpose and Significance:

The Circle of One ritual serves to purify the space and establish a sacred circle that safeguards the participants.

This ritual was essential for maintaining the integrity and safety of the channeling sessions, ensuring that the contact with Ra remained clear and protected.

Setup:

Before beginning the ritual, certain items needed to be in place. These are items like incense, which hold specific energetic influences and personal significance, particularly for Carla, who was the instrument and channel.

Here is the setup as described by Ra:

  • Head pointed twenty degrees north-by-northeast. Ra explains that the newer energies of love/light (4th Density) come from this direction.

Behind Carla's head, they placed:

  • Virgin chalice of water
  • Bible opened to the Gospel of John, Chapter One
  • Incense in a virgin censer beside the Bible
  • White candle behind the Bible

Carla wore a white robe and had her eyes covered with a white cloth while in trance.

It’s important to note that these “accoutrements,” as Ra describes them, are for the benefit of the group and not for Ra.

Similarly, in Umbanda, the ritual offerings practitioners perform are not for the spirits or the Orixás, but for the practitioners themselves and their spiritual practice.

These elements help create a focused, sacred environment that supports the spiritual work being undertaken.

Once the accoutrements were in place, Don and Jim walked a circle around Carla and spoke a dialogue offered by Ra.

Here is the original dialogue involved in the Circle of One ritual, as described by Ra:

Ritual Cleansing Techniques Mentioned in the Law of One

Towards the end of the Law of One sessions, the members had to change location and move to a new house.

This transition meant clearing the space of the new location to maintain a high level of contact with Ra.

The Ra material contains detailed instructions on how to effectively cleanse and prepare the new space.

Physical Cleaning and Repairing the Space:

Ra emphasised the importance of physically cleaning the space and making necessary repairs, such as painting.

This initial step ensured that the environment was free from physical impurities and ready for further spiritual cleansing.

Salting and Blessing the Space:

The members were instructed to salt all windowsills and outer wall door sills. Ra discussed the spiritual properties of salt and its application in a continuous line to create a barrier against negative energies.

Blessed water was then sprinkled over the salted areas to activate the salt’s protective properties, creating a powerful absorption of negative energy.

Salt has a crystalline structure—it’s a crystal, and therefore takes instruction!

Hanging Garlic:

Fresh-cut garlic was hung in specific areas, such as near the wet bar and adjacent to the kitchen area, to further protect the space.

These areas were chosen because there was intense negative energy, and certain spirits and thought-forms had taken residence there.(Yuck!)

You know that myth of garlic warding off vampires? Yeah, there’s more truth there than you may realise…

Garlic, like salt and water, has significant spiritual power and is used to help dispel negative entities.

I learned about the power of garlic and other sacred plants in one of my Divine Magic courses — Sacred Herbs.

Sweeping and Burning:

After a couple of days, a virgin broom was used to sweep the “used” salt away. The used garlic was also burned to complete the cleansing process.

Ra provided these detailed instructions to ensure the new house was energetically clean and protected.

Here is an excerpt from the original dialogue:

By following these ritual cleansing steps, the members were able to prepare their new space, ensuring it was energetically clean and protected.

These techniques highlight the importance of creating a purified environment to support spiritual work and personal well-being.

The Importance of Physical and Energetic Cleanliness

In the Law of One material, Ra emphasises the importance of keeping a space physically clean and tidy as the first step in any energetic ritual.

This foundational practice is crucial for creating an environment that supports higher spiritual work.

Through various Divine Magic courses and initiations, I’ve learned that lower astral forms and lower elementals are attracted to dirt, grime, and slime.

Think of a witch's cauldron and the "ingredients" used in a magic potion, for example.

They’re often associated with disease and negativity—rats, slugs, newts, etc.

There’s a spiritual reason slugs won't cross a line of rock salt!

Negative entities and spirits will start living in the physical dirt and grime of a location.

Therefore, the first step in achieving energetic cleanliness is to ensure physical cleanliness.

This involves regular cleaning, decluttering, and maintaining an orderly environment.

Ra's teachings align with this principle. By keeping a space physically clean, you create a foundation for higher vibrational energies to thrive.

This practice not only repels negative entities but also invites positive energies to inhabit the space.

This focus on cleanliness is echoed in various spiritual traditions. For instance, in Umbanda, practitioners wear white partly as a symbol of purity—the opposite of dirt.

Similarly, the Shinto religion of Japan places a significant emphasis on cleanliness.

Shinto practices often involve rituals of purification and the maintenance of clean, sacred spaces to invite the presence of kami (spirits).

Conclusion

The journey through the teachings of the Law of One reveals the intricate connection between physical and energetic cleanliness.

By adopting these practices, you create a sanctuary for higher spiritual work and safeguard your space from lower astral forms and negative entities.

The simple yet profound act of maintaining cleanliness can transform your environment into a haven of positive energy and spiritual clarity.

Consider the rituals shared by Ra, not just as wisdom but as practical tools you can integrate into your daily life.

Whether it's the protective barrier of salt, the purifying power of blessed water, or the spiritual potency of garlic, these practices offer tangible ways to elevate the energy of your surroundings.

As you move forward, think about how you can incorporate these insights into your routine.

Small, consistent actions can lead to significant shifts in the energy of your space.

By honouring both the physical and energetic aspects of cleanliness, you create a balanced environment that supports your spiritual journey and personal growth.

Your environment is a reflection of your inner state—by nurturing it, you nurture yourself.
